However, Kindle users will need to jump through a few extra hoop first. Using File Explorer, drag and drop the e-Books from your e-Reader into Calibre's main window, and all that nasty DRM will be stripped out. If you're taking books off your e-Reader, plug it into your PC via USB. If you already have your books stored on your PC, simply drag and drop them into Calibre's main window. So the only operating system left out is Linux.Now that all of the hard work is done, you can simply remove DRM by importing books into Calibre's library. I know you do have to run other software under Linux such as Wine to get ADE to work. I don't know what rubbish that website is spewing, but I do know it's wrong. Adobe Digital Editions does work on OS X. Wanna hear a real bummer? Overdrive is enabled on Kobos for Germany. My other online library doesn't Overdrive at all. I do run both ADE and Libby, Libby I love, but there are only about 500 books on Overdrive for the Berlin library and nearly 30,000 via ADE/CARE. And when you Google Mac + Onleihe, you find stuff like this galoreĮBooks can not be opened with ADE on MacOS - Onleihe Hilfeseite AFAIK one has to install some other software (PlayOnLinux) to run ADE 4.5. rcentros does not use it on their linux computer, too. ![]()
